The Rule of 6 is an easy framework for "How to Teach With an iPad." Every successful lesson contains six processes, and each of those processes helps illuminate the apps and methods by which an iPad can be used productively in the classroom.

To quote from author Jim Norwood:

"My aim here is to contribute to solving the problem of how to make sense of teaching with an artifact that is suddenly in the hands of all of our students, even though as a teacher I have in no way been adequately briefed to make sense of it. As such, I will simply talk about 'how to teach,' especially in an environment where you have access to iPads (and other technologies as well), and to do so in a way that more people can be a ‘natural'—because I believe having a simple, functional map in your head allows you to integrate technology almost invisibly. Naturally. The 'Rule of 6' can help with that."
